As noma prepares to open early next year, Wright presents a special auction of collected pieces from the groundbreaking Copenhagen restaurant. Carefully considered, and featuring pieces produced by artists and designers from across the Nordic region, the auction includes interior furnishings, décor and tableware that helped establish noma’s distinct aesthetic.
The sale is comprised of nearly five hundred lots—from classic chairs by Hans J. Wegner and J.L. Møller, hand-carved wooden cutlery and ceramic dishes, to the custom twenty foot long table from the restaurant’s private dining room—the auction celebrates the history of this groundbreaking restaurant.
"Evyn Block and her team came to our rescue to ensure a successful auction for noma. Their key contacts and fast action generated the relevant coverage that directly helped make the auction a record- breaking success: over 500 bidders from 17 countries competed for the furnishings, tableware and decorative objects from the original interiors of noma. The sale brought in nearly double the initial estimate for an impressive total of $610,431. I look forward to working with EBC in the future." -Richard Wright
